The United Way of Chautauqua County is nearing the halfway point of its 2024 fundraising drive, and community assistance is still essential to achieving the $1.8 million target that will support essential local programs (WNY News Now).

The United Ways of Chautauqua County (UWCC) is currently halfway through its 2024 Fundraising Campaign and is mobilizing community support to meet this year’s lofty $1.8 million goal, all of which will stay local and be used to support meaningful initiatives in the county. As the first countywide campaign of the recently combined United Ways of Chautauqua County, the 2024 Fundraising Campaign is historic with an emphasis on growing community impact in the years to come.

UWCC employees have been working diligently since the campaign began in September to showcase United Way’s community impact to local government, businesses, and other organizations.

Donations to United Way help fund 48 regional initiatives run by 34 partner organizations. 32,991 area residents were impacted by United Way programs in the past year alone. Every year, the kind donations from local contributors are essential to maintaining the funding of those desperately needed services and initiatives.

People may help the campaign succeed by sending a check to the Jamestown office or texting STRONGERCHQ to 91999. The time to give is now.

Employers and workplaces who would like to launch an office payroll pledge campaign should get in touch with Nick Dean, the Communications and Campaign Coordinator, via email at [email protected] or by phone at 716-483-1561.

Payroll pledge initiatives are currently conducted by over 120 workplaces, including school districts, nearby manufacturers, supermarkets, insurance companies, and other workplaces. Payroll deduction enables employees to donate a little amount from their paycheck each week, making charitable giving accessible to everybody.

In addition to achieving its objective, United Way’s 2024 Campaign seeks to expand community impact across Chautauqua County, support creative solutions, and enhance local programming. The campaign’s theme, “Stronger Together,” symbolizes the union of the two United Ways as well as the potential of county residents’ combined charitable contributions.

Amy Rohler, Executive Director of the UWCC, stated, “We are confident that collaboration will result in greater capacity, more innovation, and more community impact for the entire Chautauqua County.” With the community’s assistance and support, we are prepared to improve on our previous achievements.

Bill Soffel and Kelly Borrello, two prominent local figures, are co-chairing this year’s campaign.

Rohler went on to say that United Way is about more than just fundraising. We are committed to empowering the community to bring about long-lasting change and making sure that every individual and family in Chautauqua County may experience a significant improvement in their quality of life.

United Way urges local people and businesses to help close the gap toward its $1.8 million target, as this halfway point marks a critical moment. Every dollar donated stays in Chautauqua County, with the majority going toward vital initiatives that support young opportunity, health, community resilience, and financial stability.
