The renowned singer-songwriter Timoth é Chalamet, who will portray Dylan in the upcoming “A Complete Unknown” movie, has nothing but respect for Dylan.
Dylan expressed his enthusiasm for the biopic and his confidence in Chalamet’s ability to play the part on Xon Wednesday.
Dylan commented, “There’s a movie about me opening soon called A Complete Unknown (what a title!)” in reference to the Christmas Day release.
“Timothee Chalamet is starring in the lead role,” Dylan went on. “Timmy is an excellent actor, so I have no doubt that he will be entirely convincing in my role. perhaps a younger version of me. or another version of myself.
Chalamet said the message “floored” him.
Chalamet tweeted, “I am so grateful,” on Xon Thursday. “Thank you Bob.”
The 2015 book “Dylan Goes Electric!: Newport, Seeger, Dylan, and the Night That Split the Sixties,” written by Elijah Wald, served as the inspiration for “A Complete Unknown.” Dylan described it as “a fantastic retelling of events from the early ’60s that led up to the fiasco at Newport” in his X post.
Dylan told fans, “Read the book after you’ve seen the movie.”
The term “fiasco at Newport” describes Dylan’s 1965 Newport Folk Festival debut performance with electric instruments, which sparked controversy from both fans and critics who criticized Dylan for abandoning his folk sound and joining a rock band.
Ahead of the movie’s Christmas Day premiere, Chalamet’s renditions of “Like a Rolling Stone” and “Girl From The North Country” were made public on Friday.
