A ”
Wheel of Fortune
” contestant has gone viral for his hilariously wrong answer on the Nov. 11 episode of the show.
The correct answer to the puzzle in question was, “Give yourself a round of applause.” With only a few tiles missing, the board read “___E _OURSE_F A ROUN_ OF A___AUSE,” before contestant Will Jordan gave his answer.
“Treat yourself a round of sausage,” he guessed — which, clearly, was wrong for a number of reasons.
A clip now viewed over a half a million times on X shows Jordan’s comical “missolve.”
After Jordan’s fellow contestant Kitina solved the puzzle correctly, host Ryan Seacrest joined in the fun.
“Will, I kind of like yours better,” he joked. “That sounds better than just clapping right now.”
Following the silly sausage solve, the game show’s social correspondent and daughter of former host Pat Sajek, Maggie Sajek, got Jordan’s thoughts on his “missolve” moment.
“I tell you, when the lights are on, and you know, the stars and Ryan Seacrest, Vanna White… I just went blank,” Jordan said. “But, if your dad, in retirement, is watching this show, maybe cracks a beer and gets a laugh, it was worth it.”
Sajak promised him that her dad would tune in to the episode as Seacrest joined the video with a cue card to sign for Jordan’s family.
“Playing ‘Wheel of Fortune’ on stage is a whole different ball game than playing at home, but Will was a great sport about his missolve! #misssolve #WheelOfFortune,” the show captioned the post.
Jordan is a retired Coast Guard veteran who currently serves as a School Resource Officer with the Rocky Hill Police Department in Connecticut.
As the holiday season approaches, Jordan is turning his mistake into positive action by using his newfound notoriety to help drive donations to the Rocky Hill Human Services Food Bank, according to his
police department’s social media
.
“I’m sure I’m gonna have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back, so we’ll try and have some fun with it,” Jordon told Sajak on her Instagram post.
One sausage company is leaning in on the joke.
Johnsonville is treating customers to “a round of sausage,” (or more realistically, one free Johnsonville product), if they post a kind act they’ve done or observed using #KeepTheInternetJuicy.
“Will’s got us inspired,” their post reads.
