Winter Story Time at Audubon Nature Center: A Magical Literary Adventure for Kids

(WNY News Now) On February 2, Audubon Community Nature Center will host a free story time event for families and kids to learn about the power of storytelling to foster a connection between young minds and the natural world.

Jamestown, New York. This winter, take your favorite two 8-year-olds to the First Sunday Story Time at Audubon Community Nature Center for an enjoyable educational experience.

Doors to the Nature Center open at 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, February 2 for the program that begins at 12:30 p.m. Public access begins at 1:00 p.m.

Children’s books are excellent resources for fostering a child’s connection to the natural world and laying a solid educational foundation.

You can embark on this journey with the special child or children in your life, learning new things on every page as you travel through different habitats and seasons with the animals.

Admission to the program is free on Sundays. Stay to explore the exhibits, live animals, and indoor and outdoor Nature Play Areas after the tales.

The First Sunday Tale Admission is free on Sundays.

Story Time reservations must be made before Saturday, February 1. To secure your spot, visit AudubonCNC.org/events or give the Nature Center a call at (716) 569-2345 during business hours.

There can only be 15 participants. If there is space, walk-ins are welcome.

The Audubon Community Nature Center is situated between Jamestown, New York, and Warren, Pennsylvania, at 1600 Riverside Road, a quarter mile east of Route 62. Visit the approximately 600-acre nature preserve, observe the live raptors, and enjoy free hiking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing on the more than five kilometers of trails every day from sunrise to sunset.

Interactive exhibits, a variety of live animals, including the Hellbender exhibit, and the Blue Heron Gift Shop are all housed in the three-story Nature Center building. Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. are open to visitors. Every day, SNAP/EBT cardholders and Nature Center members can enter the building for free. Every Sunday, non-members of the Nature Center can access the building for free.
