Two Arrested in Carlisle for Counterfeit Money Scheme and Police Chase

CUMBERLAND COUNTY Pa. — Two individuals suspected of involvement in a counterfeit money operation led Carlisle Police on a pursuit that concluded when the driver lost control of his black BMW on Interstate 83, according to law enforcement sources.

Malik Culver, aged 24, and Alfonso Alron Lynn Woods, also 24, allegedly engaged in an incident where they attempted to load counterfeit currency onto a Green Dot bank card at a Rite Aid store on South Hanover Street in Carlisle on September 19.

Following the incident, Culver swiftly fled the scene with Woods as his passenger. The police quickly disseminated information about the situation via radio broadcasts, leading to the spotting of the suspect’s black BMW, bearing Texas license plates. Culver, behind the wheel, initiated an attempt to evade law enforcement.

Officers initiated a pursuit, which ultimately resulted in Culver crashing the BMW along Interstate 83 near the Reeser’s Summit exit. Subsequently, both individuals were apprehended and taken into custody before being transported to Cumberland County Prison.

Additionally, authorities have raised suspicions that one of the suspects, Malik Culver, might be using an alias. Cumberland County officials are exploring the possibility that Culver’s true identity could be Kalen James Harden, although this suspicion remains unconfirmed at this time.
